Hitachi Data Discovery Suite
The Hitachi Data Discovery Suite simplifies e-discovery and improves the efficiency of identifying, searching, retaining and managing unstructured data across online, nearline and archive media. Users can search across multiple data silos—including e-mail archives and snapshots/versions from remote locations—from a single interface, according to their access privileges via Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP integration. The Hitachi Data Discovery Suite also provides advanced storage management tools for Hitachi High-performance NAS and Hitachi Content Archive Platforms in the form of ‘intelligent file tiering’, which empowers organizations to use a flexible and extensible file content and metadata model to assign data to the most appropriate media—online, nearline or archive. This increases the overall storage environment efficiency with reduced backup times, faster retrievals and less duplication of data.
Hitachi Data Discovery for Microsoft® SharePoint
Hitachi Data Discovery for Microsoft SharePoint is a webpart connector that enables users to relocate data from SharePoint to the Hitachi Content Archive Platform using the familiar SharePoint interface. Adding the Hitachi Content Archive Platform with Hitachi Data Discovery for Microsoft SharePoint to SharePoint environments enables consolidation of Microsoft SharePoint environments, preservation, retention and indexing of fixed-content, optimization of performance and availability, and compliance with regulatory and litigation demands.
Hitachi Data Discovery for Microsoft SharePoint is available in two versions: Basic and Advance. Basic simplifies the data archiving from SharePoint to the Hitachi Content Archive Platform and offloads the data burden from SharePoint enabling for dramatic improvements in scalability, performance and backup of SharePoint environments. Users can archive content, assign retention policies, and even enforce litigation holds in the event that content must not be altered.
Advance empowers organizations with powerful e-discovery tools to search content stored within SharePoint environments that employ search enabled versions of the Hitachi Content Archive Platform. The Advance version also supports multiple versions of SharePoint files as well as recovery of individual files to the SharePoint environment.
